This drawing has some of the influence of Callow in it and is in very fresh condition . The linear treatment of the water and the banks of the lake as they cut across this view, together with a simple and effective sky, all owe much to the earlier artist. The trees too, bear out the critic’s comment on Wyld's interests, (see biographies) and are an exercise in the Callow mode, though more elaborate in detail.
